How to Prioritize AI Use Cases That Create Real Value
Start with the business constraint, not the technology. The strongest AI opportunities sit inside a costly, slow or inconsistent workflow with a clear owner and a measurable outcome.
Score each opportunity on value, feasibility and risk. Value covers time saved, revenue protected or quality improved. Feasibility covers data access, integration effort and how consistently the task can be judged.
Prefer narrow workflows over broad transformation statements. Extracting terms from a known document type is easier to validate than asking a general assistant to understand every part of the business.
Define the human decision points early. AI should prepare, recommend or route work where judgment still matters, with clear escalation when confidence is low.
Choose one use case that can prove value in weeks, not quarters. A successful first implementation creates evidence, internal confidence and reusable foundations for the next one.
The roadmap should connect pilots to an operating model: ownership, quality measurement, governance and continuous improvement. That is how an experiment becomes capability.
